What is Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)?
CFT is a talking therapy that was developed to help those who struggle with shame and low self-esteem. These feelings have often developed in response to difficult early experiences.
CFT supports people to build the skill of self-compassion which in turn can help with emotional regulation, feelings of safety, self-acceptance and wellbeing. The approach used in CFT focuses upon the mind-body connection looks to support mind and body awareness.

CFT can be used to help manage many long-term emotional problems related to persistent shame, self-criticism, and an inability to view one’s self and one’s behaviours kindly and compassionately.
CFT can be used for a number of different difficulties including anxiety disorders, perfectionism, low mood, grief, interpersonal difficulties, and anger.
